Good things first:
1. The robot competition was fun, if very, very early for a Saturday morning. Next time we're gonna dress up and bring better cameras. HRM got some fun shots of the kids and the event.
2. Our kitchen is starting to look like a kitchen again. Tonight there will even be cooking! Very faboo.

Bad things last:
1. The neighbor's dog is howling and lonely again. I hate it when I hear him do that. He sounds so miserable.
2. I'm a little discombobulated today, and feeling some stress. I'm needing to pull together some assignments for the yearbook girls, to hold the class together until the end of the year. I also need to find ways for us to further advertise the book and get some more sales. My accounting lady emailed today and we're still $15000 short of breaking even on our costs. Argh. Makes my stomach hurt. If you have any ideas of how to get more kids to buy more yearbooks, I'm all ears.

is there a way to mail flyers to parents?

Don't know if this is applicable, but how about some sort of fund raiser, a certain percent to charity, a certain percent to pay for the yearbook? (Also would be an end of the year project)

You'd have to check your legal department for rules and regulations.

Did you sell ads in the book from local businesses?

Another idea... do you have yearbooks left over from last year, the year before, etc? You can do a super "blow-out" sale of the previous yearbooks, and sell them for like $20 or $30 (can't remember how much the full price was). That can help generate some funds, I'm doing it this year with the last two years' books.

Going after the parents is a great idea because really they are the ones who will see the benefit of the books before the kids will. You might even try a little on-site marketing by having "ads" in the school newspaper or during morning announcements with just a teaser about one of the feature stories.
You have the internet generation and quite honestly I would be surprised if this isn't a sign of the times! Good Luck!
